Do you live in a Hostile or Friendly World?

When you think of a “genius” who do you think of?  Many people, including myself would think of Albert Einstein.  We all know he came up with the Theory of Relativity.  But Einstein has so many memorable quotes about life it is astounding.  One such quote I read recently reminded me of something I’ve been working on in my own mind in order to create some changes in my life.

“The most important decision you’ll ever make is whether you decide to live in a Universe that is supportive and friendly or one that is hostile and unkind”.

There are many parts of this quote that make you think.  First off, when Einstein says “The most important decision you’ll ever make” doesn’t that make you stop, pause and think?  To take it seriously?  It certainly did for me.  Living in a hostile or friendly Universe…is that really a decision?  Let’s dig deeper… Continue reading Do you live in a Hostile or Friendly World?


One of the things that can hold us all back is if we’re scattered.  Scattered in our brains, scattered with what goes where or scattered with our time.  I recommend taking the time to set up systems to make things easier for you.  File organization (paper and digital), keep a calendar and even your closets can all slow you down or keep you on track.

I also believe in cleanliness.  Make your bed.  Keep your room clean.  Clean your kitchen.  The less clutter you have to look at in your life the better.  With all the eye candy and distractions in the world today, you want your office and home to be free of these preventable distractions.  I even go as far as having my home professionally cleaned from time to time.  I recently had my carpets cleaned by Powerhouse Carpet Cleaning and I can’t tell you what a difference it made in the appearance of my home.  It smelled good, looked great and made everything look and feel fresh.

Spend 10 minutes dusting.  Clean your floors.  Replace the cauld in your tub and shower.  All these things improve the appearance of your live/work space and I believe that the cleaner the space, the cleaner your mind.  If you spend 10 minutes a day cleaning and organizing SOMETHING, you will see the difference in your sense of calmness and increase production and creativity.  You might think I’m crazy but it works for me!

Action Step:  Spend just 10 minutes a day cleaning and organizing something.  Do it consistently for one week and I’m telling you, you will feel better and and that’s what it’s all about right?  Till next time…Get after it!

The Feeling of being Alive

Today’s post is about a quote I read over the weekend.  The quote is by Joseph Campbell.  The preeminent scholar on cultural myths and comparative religion.  Many of you may have been exposed to his interview series with Bill Moyers from 30 years ago.  His interpretations about life and the human experience is just as relevant today.

 “People say what we are all seeking is a meaningful life, but I don’t think that’s what we are really seeking, I think what we are really seeking is the experience of truly being alive”

Welcome to my website!

     Hey guys, welcome to my new website called CC The Huntress.  I have created this site to talk about what I call “chasing the ghosts” of life.  What do I mean by ghosts?  I’m talking about the things we are all in search of…The meaning of life, why are we here?  What is happiness?  How to obtain it.  How to reach your full potential as a human being.  Emotional fitness, mental toughness and peace of mind.

I will talk about goals, habits, routines, mental programing, limiting beliefs and everything else I am reading and talking about with my friends.  The goal is to solidify these concepts in my mind as well as inform and educate my friends (you the reader) on reaching our full potential as human beings.  To find happiness, contentment and peace in our head (instead of endless, ridiculous chatter that serves no one but entertains our devious mind).

I am also going to be focused on more than just concepts.  I will always include “action steps” to encourage you to put the concepts we discuss into action.  At this stage of my life I am very aware that learning about a thing does not create change.  It’s entertainment.  Creating change is hard work that requires practice and consistency.  In today’s world we read encouragement and self help slogans constantly.  But we quickly move on to the next shiny article and forget all about the brilliant thing we just read.  I will encourage you to put these concepts into your life and act on them knowing it will improve your life.

One last thing for today.  Epiphany’s are great when they happen.  And sometimes you can experience a moment that is so powerful it elicits lasting change.  But more often, in order to make changes in your life it’s more about little changes and doing them consistently.  Great things come from doing the right thing consistently.  Plodding along to greatness!

     Action step #1:  What is it you really want and why?  If your goals don’t align with this you will be sidetracked easily.  Conversely if your goals are aligned with your “Why”, you will be able to overcome the obstacles that will appear along the way.  And obstacles will come my friends.  The bigger your vision, the more obstacles you will encounter.  Knowing your why is critical.
